Natalie Hall’s first Toronto Star piece came out when she was three. She’s been chasing that high ever since.

ABOUT

When Natalie Hall was three the Toronto Star published, Natalie ‘a force to be reckoned with’. A local-news prodigy, Natalie was interviewed for print, radio and television stories about her experience with juvenile arthritis. One of her earliest memories is doing an on-air interview for News Talk 1010 while clutching a stuffed animal. Now almost twenty years later she has aged out of child stardom but both the arthritis and love of journalism have stuck around.

Originally from Toronto, Natalie moved to Ottawa to study journalism at Carleton University. While in school Natalie developed a love for audio journalism. She is the creator of Easier Said Than Done, an arts and culture radio show on CKCU 93.1 FM. Her voice can also be heard on the Ottawa current affairs show, Midweek. Her words can be seen in The Charlatan and Capital Current.

Natalie’s work is informed by her existence as a chronically ill, queer woman. As a reporter, she has a keen interest in telling stories about municipal politics, sexuality and gender, and arts and culture. Natalie is available for freelance reporting and audio-editing in Canada’s capital and beyond. She can assure you that ‘this thing’ is in fact on, the sound is crystal clear, and each voice being captured has a story to tell.
